John Hancock Marathon Asset-Based Lending Fund is a continuously offered, closed-end management investment company registered under the 1940 Act. Its investment objective is to seek high current income and, to a lesser extent, capital appreciation. The Fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in asset-based lending investments, including distressed loans. It provides limited liquidity to shareholders through discretionary quarterly repurchase offers and is offered exclusively to accredited investors who are U.S. citizens or resident aliens. The Fund consolidates investments in wholly owned subsidiaries focused on residential real estate loans, consumer loans, legacy mortgage pools, and commercial aircraft lease transactions. Prior to March 3, 2025, the Fund was known as John Hancock Asset-Based Lending Fund.
