First Trust High Yield Opportunities 2027 Term Fund is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund’s investment objective is to provide current income. Under normal market conditions, it seeks to achieve this objective by investing at least 80% of its managed assets in high yield debt securities of any maturity that are rated below investment grade or in unrated securities deemed of comparable quality. Portfolio holdings include U.S. and non-U.S. corporate debt obligations and senior secured floating rate loans. These high yield securities, often referred to as “junk bonds,” are considered speculative with respect to an issuer’s ability to meet interest and principal obligations. The Fund terminates in 2027 unless otherwise extended.
