BlackRock Alpha Strategies Fund (the “Fund”) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company organized as a Delaware statutory trust and registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940. It operates as part of the BlackRock Fixed-Income Complex and offers shares continuously, with net asset value (NAV) calculated monthly. The Fund offers two classes of shares—Class I and Class A—with the latter bearing additional shareholder servicing and distribution expenses. It periodically repurchases shares through tender offers at the Board’s discretion. The Fund primarily invests in interests of Portfolio Funds and uses a valuation process overseen by BlackRock Advisors, LLC, its investment adviser, which also serves as the Fund's valuation designee. The Fund uses fair value accounting in accordance with GAAP and has adopted enhanced segment reporting, although it operates as a single segment. Investments are priced using a hierarchy that includes market quotes, observable data, and unobservable inputs for Level 3 securities such as interests in private Portfolio Funds.
